Lucy joined the programme in February 2011 as part of the Director's Impact Fellowship. Prior to this appointment Lucy worked on a post-doctoral bursary project in association with Renaissance East Midlands and the Centre for Advanced Studies at the University of Nottingham looking at ‘Representations of Climate Change in Local Museum Collections'. The main aim of the bursary was to create new connections between museums and communities in the East Midlands through an exploration of collections connected to historical weather and climate ( www.mubu.org.uk/climatechange ).
Lucy completed her AHRC funded doctorate in the School of Geography at Nottingham in 2010. Her thesis was titled ‘An Historical Geography of the Nilgiri Cinchona Plantations, 1860-1900' and looked at the history of the British experiment to establish quinine-yielding cinchona plantations in British India.
