Aims and Objectives

Re-enchantment and Reclamation documents a two-year research project exploring methods in dance, film, and the sonic arts for transforming perceptions of place, and in particular the landscape of Morecambe Bay and the Lune Estuary.

Progress and Highlights

The project consisted of 4 Workshops and 10 Lecture Presentations (for details of these see the project website).

The events finished in 2008. The workshops were led by the environmental dance artist Jennifer Monson, the filmmaker Chris Welsby, the installation artist and theatre maker Graeme Miller, and the sonic artist Ambrose Field. The lectures were given by leading artists and thinkers involved in environmental arts: Arnold Berleant, David Toop, John Fox and Stephen Powell, Lou Wilson, Angus Farquhar, Mike Pearson and Heike Roms, Patrick Keiller, Dan Shipsides, John Rodwell, and David Williams.
