Smaller Research Grants

Smaller Research Grants (for between £20,000 and £100,000 full economic cost) supported individual and collaborative projects from less established as well as established senior scholars, and from those wishing to undertake small scale innovative or short projects of up to one year. These grants have supported projects that addressed the specific research objectives and themes of the Landscape and Environment programme. Their case studies cover a range of regions within and beyond the UK, Lincolnshire, mid-Lothian and the Lake District, Mumbai, the Eastern Mediterranean and Amazonia. Their topics include gardens, farming terraces, rock climbs, spoil tips, river journeys and the poetry of place.
