Collaborative studentships
Collaborative Research Studentships have encouraged and developed collaboration between Higher Education Institution (HEI) departments and non-academic bodies under the Landscape and Environment Programme. These studentships provided opportunities for PhD students to gain first-hand experience of work outside an academic environment in addition to completing a doctoral thesis. The scheme brought together university departments of archaeology, art, design and architecture, english and geography, a major city museum, national library, county scholarly society, architectural foundation and a literary trust.
