Larger research grants
The Programme funded twelve larger projects, each at a maximum full economic cost of between £100,000 and £600,000. These ambitious, collaborative research projects, provided opportunities for less experienced researchers as well as senior scholars, and facilitated dissemination and exchange with the research community and a broad public. The projects covered landscapes and environments in the UK (Liverpool, Northamptonshire, Cumbria, Norfolk, Yorkshire, Oxfordshire, Northumberland), Europe (France, Low Countries, Denmark) and further afield (Peru, Ethiopia, United States, Malaysia, Indian Ocean), with the research time periods spanning thousands of years to the present day.
